My Mother's Influence
Presents from my mother are often in the form of plants. These are always very welcome presents. The orchid above was one such birthday present.
A visit to Mum’s place, usually results in me bringing home plants she has propagated for me, as well as a bottle of worm juice. Mum has a much better success rate with getting cuttings to strike than I do. She also has much success with raising plants from seed, something I am rarely able to do. I’m hoping that when I retire, my propagating skills

Flowers in Winter
Although winter is a time when there are fewer plants in flower, I am fortunate that there always seems to be something flowering in my garden, for most of the year.
Daisies seem to flower all year long. There are so many varied colours and they just seem to grow with little or no attention. Some also self seed, which is another bonus.

A Joint Effort
Although I talk about my garden, it should really be our garden. My husband loves our garden as much as I do. I just spend more time out there than my husband does and I like to be in charge.
In recent times, my other half thought he would create a garden that was his, from the planning to the implementing, as he wanted more colour in the mix. This garden was not to be touched by me. I could admire only and this I did as he created a cottage garden full of colour.
