Colour ....
I rarely plant annuals in my garden, as I find they usually require too much water. Marigolds are an exception to this as they self seed readily and provide wonderful colour.
Every year I plant pansies in memory of a friend who passed away several years ago. Pansies were her favourite flower.
Favourites of mine are salvias, irises, lavenders and roses.
